Poe still silent as ‘Haunted’ turns 10
A couple of years ago, we wrote about Poe (a.k.a. Annie Danielewski) and wondered about her long absence from music. As of this past Halloween, it’s been ten years since the release of Haunted, the artist’s highly revered sophomore album.
Shortly after its release, Poe found herself in a swirl of legal drama surrounding her music after Atlantic Records ultimately dropped her after an issue involving the rights to her master recordings. Further legal tugs-of-war ensued, but as of 2007, the issue was finally resolved (you can read Poe’s full account here).
When we last visited Poe’s status, we discovered that while she didn’t have any new music available, she was asking her fans to send her descriptions of their dreams, presumably as fodder for her next project. According to ‘The Official Poe Music Network,’ the fan submissions are indeed going to be used for what is suspected to be her third, long-awaited album.
For the last few years, Poe has also been writing and performing new material in absence of a third album – a third album which will hopefully see the light of day very soon.
As for Haunted, it appears that it’s tenth anniversary has been marked by the creation of a ‘remixed’ version of the entire album (a running time of over an hour) created by a dedicated fan. For more information, check out the Haunted Project.

Sigh. Poe was so awesome. Spanish Doll is still one of my favourite songs.
I’d like to know what happened to Erin Moran (A Girl Called Eddy).
